Beach Sports: Rent snorkel gear, boogie boards, kayaks, hydro-bikes and even a volleyball to enhance your beach experience. Visit the Ocean Sports rental stand located in the center of the beach. The staff will provide instructions and guidance where needed.  Location: Anaehoomalu Beach. Charter Boats: Whether it’s scuba diving, snorkeling, watching whales or watching sunsets, Ocean Sports offers a variety of narrated tours along the protected Kohala Coast waters, from a simple Glass Bottom Boat ride to a Wedding and Vow Rehearsal cruise.  Location: Anaehoomalu Beach at the Ocean Sports booth. Dolphin Quest: Watch, swim and play with dolphins guided by marine experts at the Hilton Waikoloa Village. The hotel offers a range of programs for people of all ages, from a one-on-one Sea Quest encounter to a kids’ Twilight Adventure camp. Luaus: Two fascinating Polynesian shows are accessible within Waikoloa Beach Resort, each offering traditional Hawaiian feasts. Movies Under the Stars: Catch a free outdoor movie at dusk on Fridays at the Queens’ Marketplace Coronation Pavilion.  Movies are selected based on a certain theme each month.  No reservations are required.  Call (877) WAIKOLOA for more information.

Hiking Trails: Take a walk down Hawaii’s past along the old Kings’ Trail (also called Mamalahoa Trail), where you’ll see thousands of ancient rock inscriptions called petroglyphs. This narrow, rugged lava trail runs through what was once a populated village. Some informative signs are posted along the way. You can also take a one-hour, specially guided Petroglyph Tour of the Kings' Trail. Meet the instructor at the Kings' Shops center stage at 10:30 a.m. Thursdays through Sundays.  Explore a range of South Kohala hiking trails featuring distinct natural and cultural interests.  


Tennis: Tennis courts are available at the Kohala Tennis facility within the Hilton Waikoloa Village. The courts and a tennis pro shop are located in a lovely garden setting inside the hotel's Kohala Spa area. Bike and Scooter Rentals: Waikoloa Beach Resort is an excellent area for riding a bike with its mild weather, terrific scenery and largely flat terrain.  Drop by the Big Island Motorcycle shop at the Kings' Shops for a one-hour, 24-hour or weekly rental.  Hourly, half day and full day moped and motorcycle rentals are also available.  You can find snorkel sets, boogie boards and other beach gear and accessories here as well.  Big Island Motorcycle Company is open from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily and can be reached at (808) 886-2011.
